A New Type of Energy at ACLM

Dr. Shawn Talbott (Ph.D., CNS, LDN, FACSM, FACN, FAIS) has gone from triathlon struggler to gut-brain guru! With a Ph.D. in Nutritional Biochemistry, he's on a mission to boost everyday human performance through the power of natural solutions and the gut-brain axis.

This week I am attending the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) conference on San Diego.

Last night (Monday, Oct 19), my research on Psychological Vigor (mental/physical energy) was one of only 12 research abstracts (out of more than 40 submitted) selected for presentation on the opening night of the ACLM conference. *NOTE = this presentation was selected this morning (Tuesday, Oct 21) as the “Outstanding Professional Scientific Abstract Poster” of the 2014 ACLM conference – very cool!

This morning (Monday, Oct 20), I was fortunate to be invited to Channel 6 to talk about “Foods To Uplift Your Mood” on the San Diego Living morning show.

In the segment, I talk about different foods and supplements for improving physical energy, mental acuity, and overall well-being (what I refer to as “vigor”) – and exactly what I presented about at the ACLM conference last night. In particular, I talk about a new “energy” drink called AXIO that improves mental and physical energy levels and results in a new type of energy that is missing among typical energy drinks.
