Project B3 – Overview

I’m excited to get started on November 1 with our first class.

This initial class will be an Overview of what to expect for the coming weeks.

In this Overview, we’ll walk through the type of nutrition plan that we’ll follow; the supplements that we’ll use; the exercise recommendations; and the overall role of gut health and mental wellness in helping us reduce stress and lose weight in a completely new way.

You can join the webinar in two ways – via Zoom or via Facebook Live.

I’ll broadcast the webinar using the Zoom platform (see connection instructions below) – and this will be streamed directly to Facebook Live within the Project B3 Group.

The Zoom video and the FB Live video will be recorded and archived so you can watch again and share the videos with friends – links to each recording will be provided at ShawnTalbott.com and Project B3 Group

Imagine this: Someone walks up to you and pitches you on a brand new, magical pill.
This pill can measurably improve your memory, overall cognitive performance, ability to learn new information, receptivity to facial cues, mood, ability to handle problems, metabolism, risk for heart disease and immune system.
Would you buy it?
Yeah, yeah, you saw this coming: That pill exists, but not in pill form. You can have all of those benefits for free, and all it takes is going to bed a little bit earlier. That’s it.
And yet! The Centers for Disease Control have called sleep deprivation a public health crisis, saying that one-third of adults don’t get enough sleep. Some 80 percent of people report sleep problems at least once per week, and according to a 2016 study, sleep deprivation “causes more than $400 billion in economic losses annually in the United States and results in 1.23 million lost days of work each year.”
If that’s not enough, here is a non-comprehensive list of the ways your sleep deprivation is personally harming you:
That is insane! All of this from just not getting enough sleep!
So what are we to do? We’ve got you covered with The Times’s guide to getting a better night’s sleep.
First, learn how much sleep you need. Generally, if you’re waking up tired, you’re not getting enough.
However, the gold standard of eight hours per night might not be right for you. A study from 2015 brought into question whether we need that magical number, so following your body is the best way to figure out the right rhythm. The only real guideline is to get as much sleep as you need to feel refreshed and energized the next day, and then do that every single night. Keeping a sleep diary — like this one — can help you figure this out.
Next, figure out your body’s natural rhythm. Maybe after years of trying, you need to acknowledge that you’re just not a morning person. And that’s perfectly fine! Take this quiz to find out what kind of sleeper you are, and don’t fight your body’s natural sleep tendencies.
Last, keep a consistent sleep schedule. This can be the most important part of your overall sleep hygiene. We’re all equipped with a circadian clock, which is that internal 24-hour timer that naturally tells us when to sleep, and the best way to getting rest and feeling rested is to keep this consistent. Fall asleep and wake up at the same time every day (including weekends), and try to build as much regularity into your schedule as possible, including meal times, exercise routines, screen time (and when to shut off the screens) and morning sunlight time. And don’t forget to keep your bedroom cool.
What helps you get the right amount of Z’s and stay well-rested? Tweet me your tips at @timherrera.
Have a great week!

Project B3 Update

WOW!

What an amazing response to my initial post asking whether or not anyone would be interested in a “guided” program to help with holiday stress and weight.

I received hundreds of, “I’m interested!” emails – so here is how the pilot program will work.

First off – it’s FREE – there is no cost associated with joining any of the online weekly Zoom calls – so you can dial in and get all the information about how modulating your microbiome and improving your gut-brain-axis can help with mood, energy, focus, and yes – weight (see topic list below).

This online pilot program will guide you through 8 weeks of nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle tips using the same proven formula outlined in many of my books– and successfully implemented by thousands of people following my programs over the years. When participating in this program during the “holiday stress season” my participants have seen huge benefits for both stress level and body fat.

What you’ll “get” with the pilot program:

  • Weekly blog posts addressing different tips and topics
  • Weekly live online video calls with discussion and Q&A sessions
  • Access to recordings of all video calls so you can view and review at your leisure

While participation in the pilot program coaching is free to all participants, I’ll also be recommending a variety of nutrition products from Amare Global (The Mental Wellness Company) to help with microbiome modulation, gut-brain-axis balance, mood, stress, sleep, and more. You can choose to use all or some of the recommended products, based on your goals and budget.

I’m calling this pilot program, “Project B3” to emphasize that it’s a PILOT program that will focus on improving Brain& Biomeaspects of wellness (which will help everyone move to the “right” side of the Mental Wellness Continuum with better mood, lower stress, higher energy, sharper mental focus, superior vigor) – and which can all help to bring us toward a better Body(in terms of how we look, how we function, and how we perform).

You’ll see how important “B3 Balance” across Brain/Body/Biome is for overall well-being as we move through the program together.

I’m looking forward to joining you in this program – and to having a great Holiday Season – and to setting up 2019 to be your best year yet!

What to do now?

  1. Order your products so you have them at the start of November (you won’t actually start taking them until November 8 – but ordering in October entitles you to greater reward points to “spend” on future products for December).
  2. Get your buddies together – doing a program like this with friends will vastly improve your results.
  3. Bookmark ZoomWithPat.com– which is where we will hold the weekly Zoom calls on Thursday nights at 6pm PT, 7pm MT, 8pm CT, 9pm ET – and visit www.ShawnTalbott.comand “Follow” my blog so you’re notified each time I post new information there.

One final note – I understand that many Amare Leaders will be in Cancun celebrating their success during November 5-10, so they may be starting the program a week later than most people – NOT a problem. In fact, their results on the program might be particularly good because I‘m sure they will be “indulging” more than typical during this week – and they should!

Thanks,

Shawn
