Talbott Tour of Colorado

Dr. Shawn Talbott (Ph.D., CNS, LDN, FACSM, FACN, FAIS) has gone from triathlon struggler to gut-brain guru! With a Ph.D. in Nutritional Biochemistry, he's on a mission to boost everyday human performance through the power of natural solutions and the gut-brain axis.

It’s my birthday today – 47 years old and ready to embark on a very cool 2-week adventure here in Colorado!

Tomorrow (August 3) is Ironman Boulder – 140.6 miles of fun – swimming (2.4 miles), biking (112 miles), and running (26.2 miles) through the Flatirons and surrounding plains. It looks to be warm and wonderful – and I’m looking forward to putting my new “low-volume” training plan to the test (less than 12-hours per week of training – a plan that I call “Weekend Ironman” for people who have very limited time to train between the demands of work and family obligations – I’ll write more about it in future articles).

After Ironman Boulder, it’s off to Breckenridge (9,600 ft elevation) to stay for a couple weeks in preparation for the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike race on Aug 9 and then the Leadville 100 Trail Run on Aug 16 – both top out above 12,000 ft elevation.

In between all this great mountain fun, I’ll also be doing my best to educate people about the health benefits of managing oxidative stress so they can Feel, Look, and Perform at their Best.

I’ll be in Colorado Springs on Aug 5; Denver on Aug 6 (with Good Day Colorado on the morning of Aug 7 to talk about Deadly Antioxidants); and Grand Junction on Aug 12.

Check HERE for the times and location for any of these events – and please come on out – and bring your friends.

As always, I’ll be practicing what I preach by using Protandim to help manage oxidative stress and help my body to respond to the demands of altitude, and using the Wicked Fast performance products to help my stamina for each event and my recovery between them (not as easy as it used to be for an old guy like me).

Please keep your fingers crossed for me – and send good vibes to help keep me going strong while traversing the Rocky Mountain highs (and inevitable lows).

Thanks for reading,

Shawn
